Video Wall Misalignment

Video Wall Misalignment

Content appearing offset, mismatched, or incorrectly distributed across your video wall? Here is how to fix alignment issues.

Bezel Compensation

The most common cause of misalignment is incorrect bezel compensation settings.

How to fix: 1. Go to Devices > Video Walls 2. Select your video wall 3. Open Bezel Settings 4. Measure the actual bezel gap between screens (in millimeters) 5. Enter the measurement for horizontal and vertical gaps 6. Save and preview

Grid Position Errors

Devices assigned to wrong positions in the grid:

1. Open the video wall configuration 2. Verify each device is in the correct row and column 3. Physically check which screen corresponds to which device (send a unique test image to each) 4. Swap device positions if needed 5. Re-deploy content

Resolution Mismatch

All screens in the wall must have the same output resolution:

1. Check each device's display output resolution 2. Ensure all screens are set to the same resolution (e.g., all 1920x1080) 3. Disable any auto-resolution features on the displays 4. Disable overscan on all displays

Use a grid test pattern to verify alignment. Create a simple image with numbered grid squares at the total wall resolution. Each screen should show its portion of the grid correctly.

Color and Brightness Mismatch

  • Calibrate all displays to the same brightness, contrast, and color temperature
  • Use the display's built-in calibration tools
  • For LED walls, use the NovaStar calibration software
  • Allow new displays to "burn in" for 100+ hours before final calibration

Content Not Filling the Wall

  • Verify content resolution matches the total wall resolution
  • Example: 3x3 wall of 1080p screens needs 5760x3240 content
  • Standard 1920x1080 content will only fill one screen
  • Re-create content at the correct total resolution

Sync Issues

  • Enable NTP time synchronization on all devices
  • Use wired Ethernet for all wall devices (Wi-Fi introduces latency)
  • Ensure all devices run the same player version
  • Restart all devices simultaneously for a fresh sync

Do not use auto-fit or auto-adjust display features with video walls. These features scale the image on each screen individually, breaking the wall alignment. Always use exact pixel-for-pixel output.
