Wall Troubleshooting

Common video wall issues and how to resolve them.

Content Not Aligned

Symptoms: Content appears shifted or offset between screens.

Solutions: 1. Verify the grid configuration matches your physical layout 2. Check that devices are assigned to the correct grid positions 3. Review bezel compensation settings 4. Ensure all screens are set to the same resolution and overscan settings 5. Disable any auto-adjust or auto-fit features on the displays themselves

Color Mismatch Between Screens

Symptoms: One screen looks warmer/cooler or brighter/darker than others.

Solutions: 1. Use the same display model and batch for all screens 2. Match brightness, contrast, and color temperature settings 3. Calibrate all screens using a colorimeter if available 4. For LED walls, re-send the cabinet calibration file 5. Let new screens "burn in" for 100+ hours before calibrating

Sync Issues

Symptoms: Content on different screens is not synchronized — video frames appear at different times.

Solutions: 1. Enable NTP time sync on all devices 2. Use a local NTP server for the most accurate sync 3. Use wired Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi (lower latency) 4. Restart all devices simultaneously 5. Check that all devices are running the same player version

For video playback sync issues, try using shorter video clips (under 30 seconds) with clean loop points. Shorter clips reduce the chance of drift accumulating.

Black Screen on One Panel

Solutions: 1. Check the HDMI/DisplayPort cable 2. Verify the player device is powered on and running 3. Check the device status in the GoVista dashboard 4. Restart the affected device 5. For LED walls, check the data cable between controller and modules

Flickering

Solutions: 1. For LED walls: increase the refresh rate in the NovaStar controller 2. Check power supply stability 3. Verify cable integrity (data and power) 4. Update the player app to the latest version

Content Does Not Fill the Wall

Solutions: 1. Verify content resolution matches the total wall resolution 2. Check aspect ratio settings in the playlist 3. Disable any scaling or letterboxing on individual displays 4. Re-export content at the correct resolution

Always document your video wall settings (brightness, color temperature, bezel compensation values). If settings are accidentally changed, you can restore them quickly from your documentation.
