Device Groups & Stores

Organize your devices into logical groups based on physical locations, purpose, or any criteria that suits your workflow.

Stores

A Store represents a physical location:

  • Retail store
  • Restaurant branch
  • Hotel lobby
  • Office building
  • Hospital ward

Creating a Store

1. Go to Stores in the main navigation 2. Click Create Store 3. Fill in the details:

  • Store name
  • Address (for map view)
  • Region or city
  • Contact information

4. Click Save

Assigning Devices to Stores

1. Open the device settings 2. Select the store from the Store dropdown 3. Optionally assign to a Zone within the store

Or from the Store view: 1. Open a store 2. Click Add Device 3. Select devices to assign

Zones

Zones are areas within a store. For example:

  • Entrance — Welcome screens
  • Checkout — Point-of-sale displays
  • Window — Outward-facing screens
  • Dining Area — Menu and entertainment screens

Use zones to push different content to different areas of the same store. For example, show menu content in the dining area and promotional content in the window.

Hierarchical Targeting

GoVista's targeting system follows a hierarchy:

  • Brand — All devices in the organization
  • Region — Devices in a geographic area
  • City — Devices in a specific city
  • Store — Devices in a physical location
  • Zone — Devices in a specific area of a store
  • Tag — Devices with a specific tag (cross-cutting)
  • Device — Individual screen

When publishing content, you can target any level. Content cascades down — publishing to a store reaches all devices in that store.

Store Analytics

Each store has its own analytics dashboard showing:

  • Device status overview
  • Content playback stats
  • Audience metrics (if GoTrack is enabled)

Changing a device's store assignment does not automatically update its playlist. Re-deploy content after moving devices between stores.
