Multi-Target Deploy

Multi-Target Deploy

Deploy playlists to multiple devices, stores, or locations with a single action.

Target Types

GoVista supports several target levels:

  • Device — Individual screens
  • Store — All devices at a physical location
  • Zone — Devices in a specific area of a store
  • Tag — All devices with a specific tag
  • Region — All stores in a geographic region
  • City — All stores in a city
  • Brand — Every device in your organization

How to Deploy

1. Open the playlist you want to deploy 2. Click Deploy 3. Choose your target type from the selector 4. Select one or more targets 5. Review the list of affected devices 6. Click Publish

Deployment Flow

When you deploy:

1. GoVista generates a manifest for each affected device 2. The manifest version is incremented 3. Devices detect the new manifest on their next heartbeat 4. Each device downloads any new content assets 5. Playback updates with the new content

Use the preview to see exactly how many devices will be affected before publishing. Click "Show affected devices" in the deployment dialog.

Combining Targets

You can combine multiple target types in a single deployment:

  • Deploy to Store A + Store B + all devices tagged "promo-screen"
  • This creates a union of all matched devices

Overriding Existing Content

Deploying new content to a device replaces its current playlist assignment for that target. If a device receives content from multiple sources (direct assignment + schedule), the schedule rules and priority system determine what actually plays.

Monitoring Deployment

After deploying, monitor sync status:

1. Go to Devices 2. Check the content sync percentage for each device 3. Devices at 100% have fully downloaded and are playing the new content

Large deployments to hundreds of devices may take time as each device downloads independently. Stagger large deployments during off-peak hours to reduce server load.
