WhatsApp Setup

Connect your WhatsApp number to GoVista to manage your screens, upload content, and receive alerts directly from your phone.

Prerequisites

  • A GoVista account with admin access
  • A WhatsApp-enabled phone number
  • WhatsApp installed on your phone

Setting Up WhatsApp Integration

1. Go to Settings > Integrations > WhatsApp 2. Click Connect WhatsApp 3. A QR code or pairing number will appear 4. Open WhatsApp on your phone 5. Follow the pairing instructions 6. Verify the connection by sending a test message

What You Can Do via WhatsApp

Once connected, you can:

  • Check device status — See which screens are online or offline
  • Upload content — Send images and videos directly as content
  • Create playlists — Build and manage playlists via conversation
  • Take screenshots — Capture what is currently on screen
  • Restart devices — Send remote commands
  • Receive alerts — Get notified about offline devices and issues
  • Generate AI content — Create images using text prompts

Start by sending "hi" or "menu" to see all available options. The WhatsApp chatbot guides you through each action with interactive buttons and lists.

Conversation Flow

The WhatsApp bot uses a guided conversation approach:

1. Send a message or select an option 2. The bot responds with choices (buttons or lists) 3. Select your choice to continue 4. The bot confirms each action

Multiple Users

Multiple team members can connect their WhatsApp numbers. Each user's access is governed by their role in GoVista:

  • Admins can do everything
  • Editors can upload and create content
  • Viewers can check status only

Session Management

WhatsApp sessions expire after 60 minutes of inactivity. Simply send a new message to start a fresh session.

The WhatsApp integration uses your organization's WhatsApp Business API. Ensure your phone number is not already registered with another WhatsApp Business account.
