WhatsApp Device Control

Monitor and control your devices remotely via WhatsApp without opening the dashboard.

Checking Device Status

1. Send "status" or "devices" 2. The bot shows a summary:

  • Total devices online/offline
  • List of devices with status indicators

3. Select a specific device for details

Device Details

When you select a device, you can see:

  • Online/Offline — Current connection status
  • Last heartbeat — When it last reported in
  • CPU/Memory/Disk — Hardware utilization
  • Temperature — Device temperature
  • Player version — Current app version
  • Wi-Fi signal — Connection strength
  • Current playlist — What is currently playing

Remote Commands via WhatsApp

After selecting a device:

  • Screenshot — Capture and receive a screenshot of the current display
  • Restart App — Restart the GoVista player (APP_RESTART)
  • Reboot — Full device reboot
  • Refresh — Force content refresh

Use the screenshot feature to verify content is displaying correctly without physically visiting the screen location. This is especially valuable for remote or hard-to-access screens.

Bulk Status Check

Get a quick overview of all devices:

1. Send "report" 2. Receive a summary:

  • Total devices
  • Online count
  • Offline count
  • Devices with alerts
  • Content sync status overview

Alert Notifications

Receive automatic WhatsApp messages when:

  • A device goes offline
  • A device reports high temperature
  • Disk space is running low
  • Content sync fails
  • An unexpected reboot occurs

Configuring Alerts

1. Send "alerts" from WhatsApp 2. Select which alert types you want to receive 3. Set quiet hours (no alerts during certain times) 4. Choose alert severity threshold

Remote commands are logged in the audit trail. All actions taken via WhatsApp are associated with your user account and can be reviewed by admins.
