Configuring Notifications
From the Dashboard: 1. Go to Settings > Notifications > WhatsApp 2. Toggle on the alert types you want 3. Set the severity threshold 4. Configure quiet hours 5. Save
From WhatsApp: 1. Send "alerts" 2. Select Configure Alerts 3. Toggle categories on/off using the interactive buttons
Enable "Device Offline" notifications at minimum. Knowing immediately when a screen goes down lets you take action before customers or management notice.
Quiet Hours
Set times when notifications are silenced:
- Useful for overnight hours when screens are powered off
- Prevents unnecessary alerts during maintenance windows
- Exceptions can be set for critical alerts (always notify)
Notification Frequency
To prevent notification overload:
- Repeated alerts for the same issue are batched
- A digest mode sends a summary every hour instead of individual alerts
- You can set a maximum number of notifications per hour
Multi-User Notifications
- Each team member configures their own notification preferences
- IT team can receive device alerts
- Content managers can receive approval notifications
- Store managers can receive their store-specific alerts only
Notification Format
WhatsApp notifications include:
- Alert type and severity icon
- Device name and store
- Brief description of the issue
- Quick action buttons (view device, restart, dismiss)
WhatsApp has rate limits on business messages. If many devices go offline simultaneously (e.g., power outage), notifications may be delayed or batched.
