WhatsApp Notifications

Configure GoVista to send you automatic notifications via WhatsApp when important events occur.

Available Notifications

Device Alerts:

  • Device Offline — A screen has lost connection
  • Device Back Online — A previously offline screen has reconnected
  • CPU Overheat — Temperature exceeds safe limits
  • Disk Full — Storage space critically low
  • HDMI Disconnected — Display cable unplugged
  • Low Wi-Fi Signal — Wireless connection degraded
  • Unexpected Reboot — Device restarted without command

Content Alerts:

  • Content Sync Failure — Device failed to download content
  • Approval Required — New content submitted for review
  • Schedule Activated — A schedule started or ended

Configuring Notifications

From the Dashboard: 1. Go to Settings > Notifications > WhatsApp 2. Toggle on the alert types you want 3. Set the severity threshold 4. Configure quiet hours 5. Save

From WhatsApp: 1. Send "alerts" 2. Select Configure Alerts 3. Toggle categories on/off using the interactive buttons

Enable "Device Offline" notifications at minimum. Knowing immediately when a screen goes down lets you take action before customers or management notice.

Quiet Hours

Set times when notifications are silenced:

  • Useful for overnight hours when screens are powered off
  • Prevents unnecessary alerts during maintenance windows
  • Exceptions can be set for critical alerts (always notify)

Notification Frequency

To prevent notification overload:

  • Repeated alerts for the same issue are batched
  • A digest mode sends a summary every hour instead of individual alerts
  • You can set a maximum number of notifications per hour

Multi-User Notifications

  • Each team member configures their own notification preferences
  • IT team can receive device alerts
  • Content managers can receive approval notifications
  • Store managers can receive their store-specific alerts only

Notification Format

WhatsApp notifications include:

  • Alert type and severity icon
  • Device name and store
  • Brief description of the issue
  • Quick action buttons (view device, restart, dismiss)

WhatsApp has rate limits on business messages. If many devices go offline simultaneously (e.g., power outage), notifications may be delayed or batched.
