Power Management

Schedule when your displays turn on and off to save energy and extend hardware lifespan.

Display Power Schedules

Set specific times for displays to power on and off:

1. Go to Devices and select a device or group 2. Click Settings > Power Management 3. Set the On Time and Off Time for each day of the week 4. Save the schedule

How It Works

GoVista sends power commands to devices based on your schedule:

  • At the On Time, the display powers on and content begins playing
  • At the Off Time, the display enters standby or powers off
  • The player app continues running in the background (only the display turns off)

Configuration Options

  • Daily schedule — Same times every day
  • Weekday/Weekend — Different times for business days and weekends
  • Per-day — Different times for each day of the week
  • Holidays — Override schedules on specific dates

For restaurants, set different power schedules based on operating hours. For example, screens on at 10 AM for lunch and off at 11 PM after dinner service.

Platform Support

Power management capabilities vary by platform:

  • Android — Full support (CEC commands or direct HDMI control)
  • Tizen — Supported via display's built-in power scheduling
  • WebOS — Supported via LG's power management features
  • Windows — Can control display via OS power settings

Energy Savings

Powering off displays during non-operating hours can:

  • Reduce electricity costs by 30-50%
  • Extend display panel lifespan
  • Reduce heat and cooling costs
  • Meet corporate sustainability goals

Content Readiness

When a display powers on:

1. The player app checks for manifest updates 2. Any queued content changes are applied 3. Playback begins within seconds

Some budget Android boxes may not support CEC power control. Test power scheduling on your specific hardware before deploying widely.
