Audit Logs
Audit logs track every action performed in your GoVista account, providing a complete history for security, compliance, and troubleshooting.
What is Logged
Every significant action is recorded:
User Actions:
- Login and logout events
- Password changes
- Role changes
- User invitations and deactivations
Content Actions:
- File uploads and deletions
- Playlist creation and edits
- Schedule creation and modifications
- Content approvals and rejections
- Deployments and publications
Device Actions:
- Device pairing and removal
- Remote commands (restart, reboot, refresh)
- Configuration changes
- OTA update triggers
Administrative Actions:
- Organization settings changes
- Billing and plan changes
- API key creation and deletion
- SSO configuration changes
- White label modifications
Viewing Audit Logs
1. Go to Settings > Audit Logs 2. Browse the chronological event list 3. Each entry shows:
- Timestamp — When the action occurred
- User — Who performed the action
- Action — What was done
- Details — Specific information about the change
- IP Address — Where the action originated
Filtering Logs
Filter audit logs by:
- Date range — Select a specific time period
- User — Actions by a specific user
- Action type — Specific categories (content, device, user, admin)
- Resource — Actions on a specific item
Review audit logs regularly as part of your security practice. Look for unusual patterns like after-hours access, unexpected role changes, or bulk deletions.
Exporting Audit Logs
Export logs for compliance and archival:
1. Set your filters 2. Click Export 3. Download as CSV
Data Retention
Audit log retention depends on your plan:
- Standard plans: 90 days
- Professional plans: 1 year
- Enterprise plans: Custom retention periods
Audit logs cannot be modified or deleted by any user, including admins. This ensures the integrity of the audit trail for compliance purposes.
