Emergency Alerts

Emergency alerts let you instantly override all content across your screens with urgent messages.

When to Use Emergency Alerts

  • Fire or evacuation notices
  • Severe weather warnings
  • Security alerts
  • Critical business announcements
  • Public safety messages

Sending an Alert

1. Go to Devices or use the quick action on the dashboard 2. Click Emergency Alert 3. Compose your message 4. Select severity level:

  • Critical — Highest urgency, red display
  • Warning — Important, orange display
  • Info — Informational, blue display

5. Select targets (all devices, specific stores, or regions) 6. Click Send Now

How Alerts Work

  • Alerts override ALL scheduled content immediately
  • They take the highest priority in the system
  • Devices receive the alert via WebSocket for instant delivery
  • The alert displays until you dismiss it

Create pre-written alert templates for common emergencies (fire evacuation, weather closure, etc.). In an emergency, seconds matter — having templates ready lets you send alerts faster.

Dismissing an Alert

1. Go to the active alerts section 2. Select the alert 3. Click Dismiss or Clear 4. All affected devices return to their regular scheduled content

Alert History

All emergency alerts are logged with:

  • Who sent the alert
  • When it was sent and dismissed
  • Which devices received it
  • The message content

This log is important for compliance and incident review.

Best Practices

  • Test your alert system regularly (during off-hours)
  • Ensure key personnel know how to send alerts
  • Keep alert messages short and clear
  • Include actionable instructions ("Evacuate via nearest exit")

Emergency alerts affect all targeted screens immediately. Double-check your target selection before sending to avoid unnecessary disruption to screens outside the affected area.
