Audience Analytics
Audience Analytics
GoVista's audience analytics feature (GoTrack) uses camera-based technology to measure who is watching your screens and how they engage.
What is GoTrack?
GoTrack uses a small camera attached to or near your display to anonymously analyze viewers:
- No images are stored — All processing happens locally on the device
- No personal data — Only aggregate statistics are collected
- Privacy-compliant — Designed to meet GDPR and privacy regulations
Metrics Collected
Demographics:
- Estimated age range (child, young adult, adult, senior)
- Gender distribution
Engagement:
- Impressions — Number of people who passed by the screen
- Viewers — Number of people who looked at the screen
- Attention rate — Percentage of passers-by who became viewers
- Dwell time — Average time spent looking at the screen
Temporal:
- Peak viewing times throughout the day
- Day-of-week patterns
- Busy vs. quiet periods
Setting Up GoTrack
1. Attach a USB camera to your player device (Android recommended) 2. Enable GoTrack in the device settings 3. Position the camera to capture the area in front of the screen 4. Calibrate the detection zone
Position the camera at eye level, centered above or below the display. Avoid direct sunlight or backlight behind viewers, as this reduces detection accuracy.
Viewing Audience Data
1. Go to Analytics > Audience 2. Select the time period and scope 3. View demographic breakdowns, engagement trends, and heatmaps
Using Audience Data
- Optimize scheduling — Show content when your target audience is present
- Measure effectiveness — Compare attention rates across different content
- Justify investment — Provide advertisers with viewer data
- A/B testing — Test different content and measure which gets more attention
Privacy Considerations
GoTrack is designed with privacy in mind:
- No facial recognition or identification
- No images leave the device
- All data is anonymized and aggregated
- Compliant with GDPR and similar regulations
Check local privacy laws before deploying cameras. Some jurisdictions require signage notifying people of camera presence. Consult with your legal team.
