Account Security
GoVista gives every user tools to keep their account safe. You'll find these under Settings > Security.
Two-factor authentication (2FA)
Two-factor adds a second step at login — a code from an authenticator app — so a stolen password isn't enough to get in.
- Open Settings > Security and choose Enable two-factor.
- Scan the QR code with an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, 1Password, and similar).
- Enter the 6-digit code to confirm — you're protected from your next sign-in on.
- From then on, you'll enter a code from the app each time you sign in.
Password
- Use a long, unique password you don't reuse elsewhere.
- Change it any time from Settings > Security.
- If you sign in with SSO (Google, Microsoft, Okta), your password is managed by your identity provider instead.
Sessions
- Your session stays active for a set period, then asks you to sign in again.
- Signing out ends the session on that device.
For administrators
- Require SSO and domain restrictions for your whole team from Admin > SSO.
- Role-based access limits what each member can do — review it in Settings > Team.
If you lose access to your authenticator app, an administrator can turn off two-factor on your account so you can sign in and set it up again — so keep at least one admin who can help.
