Adding a Windows Player

The GoVista Windows player runs on any Windows PC, making it ideal for kiosk displays, commercial screens connected to PCs, or development testing.

System Requirements

  • Windows 10 or Windows 11
  • 4 GB RAM minimum (8 GB recommended)
  • 2 GB free disk space plus storage for content
  • Stable internet connection
  • Modern GPU with hardware video decoding

Step 1: Download the Installer

1. Go to Settings > Downloads in the GoVista dashboard 2. Download the Windows player EXE installer 3. Run the installer as Administrator

Step 2: Install

1. Follow the installation wizard 2. Choose the installation directory 3. Select whether to run at startup 4. Complete the installation

Step 3: Pair the Device

1. Launch GoVista Player from the Start menu or desktop shortcut 2. A 6-character pairing code appears 3. Enter the code in Devices > Add Device on the dashboard 4. Name and configure the device

Kiosk Mode Setup

To run GoVista full-screen without user access:

1. Set GoVista Player to auto-start with Windows 2. Configure Windows kiosk mode via Settings > Accounts > Assigned Access 3. Or use Group Policy to restrict the user session

For dedicated signage PCs, create a separate Windows user account specifically for the GoVista player and set it to auto-login with kiosk mode.

Performance Tips

  • Use a wired Ethernet connection for reliability
  • Enable hardware acceleration in the player settings
  • Disable Windows Update auto-restart during business hours
  • Set Windows power plan to High Performance to prevent sleep
  • Disable screen saver and screen timeout

Updating the Player

The Windows player can be updated:

  • Manually — Download the latest installer and run it
  • OTA — When enabled, the player checks for updates automatically

Disable Windows automatic updates during business hours to prevent unexpected reboots. Use Active Hours or Group Policy to schedule updates outside operating hours.
