1

Download and Install ViPlex Express

Download the ViPlex Express software from Novastar's official website and install it on your PC.

Download ViPlex Express
ViPlex Express runs on Windows only (64-bit). macOS and Linux are not supported.
2

Download the GoVista Player APK

Download the latest Android Player APK from the GoVista Downloads page to your PC.

Download GoVista Player APK
We recommend the Lite build (~24 MB) — optimized for LED screens.
3

Put the PC on the Same Network as Novastar

The Novastar controller creates its own WiFi access point (AP) by default. Connect your PC to that WiFi.

WiFi Network:
Password:Password printed on the back-label of the device
Alternatively, connect the controller to the LAN via Ethernet. The PC and controller must be on the same subnet.
4

Connect via ViPlex Express

Open ViPlex Express. The app automatically scans and lists Novastar devices on the network.

Username:
Password:

Select the device from the list and click "Connect".

The default password <CODE/> is usually unchanged. If you can't connect, check the device's serial number.
5

Open the User Software Menu

On the ViPlex Express main screen, type "novasoft" on your keyboard. This unlocks a hidden "User Software" menu.

Type on keyboard:

A "User Software" option appears. Click it.

Don't type into any input field — just type on the keyboard. The app detects it in the background.
6

Disable Novastar PlayService

From the User Software menu, select your device. Then turn off (disable) the "PlayService" option.

This disables Novastar's built-in media player so GoVista Player can run as the main app.

Without disabling PlayService, GoVista Player may not appear on screen. Don't skip this step.
7

Install the GoVista Player APK

In the same menu, click the "Install" button and select the GoVista Player APK you downloaded earlier.

Check "Auto launch on startup"
Check "Automatically run after installation"

Click "Install". The APK installs and starts automatically.

8

Pair with GoVista

After the app starts, a pairing code appears on screen. Enter it in the GoVista Dashboard:

  1. Sign in at govista.app
  2. Go to Network → Devices
  3. Click "Add Device"
  4. Enter the pairing code from the screen
  5. Pick a device name and store
  6. Click "Pair"
Once paired the device automatically starts downloading content and shows as "Online".

Bonus: Remote Update via ADB

Advanced

After initial install, enable ADB and run future APK updates remotely.

# 1. Open the hidden debug menu in ViPlex Express
Type on keyboard: selftest
# 2. Enable ADB (green slider)
# 3. Now you can connect from any computer
$ adb connect <DEVICE_IP>:5555
$ adb install govista-player-v1.5.97-lite-debug.apk
Once enabled, you can push APKs from any PC (Windows/Mac/Linux) on the same network. No physical access needed.
